Privacy & disclosure

The short, honest version.

No dark patterns, no selling your data. Here’s exactly what this site does and doesn’t do.

Affiliate links

There are none at the moment: nothing on this site earns us a commission, and every link is here because we think it is useful. If that ever changes we will say so plainly on this page, and it will never change a rating or a recommendation.

What we collect

Almost nothing. We run no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising, so we do not know who you are or which pages you read. The only personal data we ever hold is what you type into the contact form. Nothing is sold, ever.

Cookies (there aren’t any)

This site sets no cookies. None for analytics, none for advertising, none for “preferences”. That is also why you have not been shown a consent banner — there is nothing to consent to. Fonts are served from our own server rather than a font network, and the maps and films are click-to-load: nothing reaches Google or YouTube until you press play, and if you never press play they never learn you were here.

The contact form

If you write to us, the form passes your name, email, subject and message to Netlify, who host this site and store submissions on our behalf. We use it only to answer you. We keep messages while they are useful and delete them when they are not, and we do not add you to any list because you wrote to us. You can ask us what we hold, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it — just say so and we will.

Units & localisation

Temperatures show in °F for visitors in the United States and °C everywhere else, detected from your browser’s region. Nothing about you is stored to do this.

Contact

Spotted something out of date, or want your data removed? Use the contact form and we will sort it.

This page is a plain-language summary for the prototype, not legal advice. A production launch would add full GDPR-compliant terms.
